Roni Josef International Salon & Spa Helps Local Cancer Patients to “Look Good…Feel Better”
WHAT:
Roni Josef International Salon & Spa will host its first “Look Good…Feel Better” class on Monday, July 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its Northwest location located at 7131 W. Craig Road. “Look Good…Feel Better” is a internationally-renowned program created by the Personal Care Products Council Foundation in partnership with the American Cancer Society and National Cosmetology Association that assists women currently undergoing cancer treatment how to offset appearance-related changes from cancer treatment and face the disease with confidence.
Breast cancer survivor and Roni Josef salon stylist Linda Benitez will be teaching local cosmetologists, aestheticians and nail technicians who volunteer at oncology centers how to help women with cancer update their beauty regimen so they can still look beautiful after the effects of chemotherapy. The volunteers will learn how to help boost the female patients’ self-esteem and face cancer with confidence by teaching them techniques like how to take care of skin that is dry and sensitive from chemotherapy; how to camouflage particular types of pigmentation marks; apply make-up using hypo-allergenic products; teaching them how to draw or fill in their eyebrows better or add eyelashes and assist the women in choosing the right wig, turban or hat that fits best. They will use the knowledge and visit oncology centers across Southern Nevada to help the women in treatment how to “look good and feel better.”
